Prima Center Berlin

The Prima Center Berlin is a space organized by three political activists from Germany, Paula, Annamaria, and Jeanne, with the support of friends from the PCB, from the community for the community. Above all, we put on exhibitions and events for art from Southeast Europe (aka Northwest Asia), the Berlin diaspora, and the queer community of both places.

We are particularly concerned with the questions of who is allowed to be an artistic persona for whom and why, whose ideas are considered risky, and what these categories of gender and nation are supposed to mean. The fact that we constantly find ourselves caught in the middle is very convenient for never finding an answer, let alone an identity. We prefer to let art and communities speak for themselves and to each other, about the political and private matters that concern us, and from these common threads, we crochet little stars and (curatorial) animals.
